The weather’s been grey and rainy in my corner of the world this week – great weather for staying warm and cozy inside, but not so pleasant for walking outdoors.
Yesterday my husband and I ran some errands at our local shopping centre and didn’t feel like we had much to smile about as the cold rain started to soak us through. (Like many West Coasters, we don’t bother to use an umbrella. I’m not sure why we do that – I used to tell people that after living here for awhile, the rain just starts to roll off our backs, like a duck.) π
But anyway, in the midst of feeling grumpy and cold, we noticed this colourful display of daffodils, tulips, and other flowers growing in the courtyard.
Although we might not have cracked an actual smile, it did cheer us up a bit… as did the peanut butter chocolates we bought from Rogers’ Chocolates nearby. Definitely an unexpected moment of joy shining through the rain.

Flowers do brighten a damp weary wetcoast weather that will stay for another week., Chocolate does the trick to make us smile.

I echo your sentiment …. it is often the conversations that follow posts which illuminate further and bring clarity to events for me!
